Today I launched BOT10Productions.com so if your here and would like to see it click here

Click and Buy!

And so I'm working on the layout of the store. Wait wait before I jump to far ahead, let me explain. I have been trying to make it easy for you to purchase items from me all while maintaining your privacy. Let's face it I know that a lot of you follow me in silence, all while enjoying the artwork I create. Which is cool with me, and I want to help maintain that.

So I have taken in consideration that many like physical items as well as digital ones so I have come up with a delivery system that will be applied to the site that will allow you to choose how you receive the media. No forms, no sign up, etc. Just check in from time to time and see whats for sale.

I have made it to where all the prices are fair, to make sure you get a quality product without spending a TON of cash. So it's my promise to make it affordable for you to purchase your favorite pieces of art.

Want to take a look?! Well the store doesn't officially launch til January but I have listed the items available so far WITHOUT the shopping cart feature. So make sure to Bookmark the Store I have LOTS of things coming! Excited?! Click on the link below to explore. Thank you all for the support.

SHOW ME THE STORE!

Splinter In Time

After careful consideration and good advice. I am now officially refraining from posting in any forums save for artwork. So if you post anywhere that I post artwork and I don't say thanks or something, please remember that I appreciate it even if I don't say anything.

For years I have enjoyed reading and posting, sharing, teaching, and learning. I have a deep love for the creative process of anything and everything related to entertainment. And so its both sad and a relief to come to this choice.

I am passionate about helping and being involved in things of this nature, but as of late I feel that I must pass the torch and allow others to build. My place is somewhere else, some other time. I have seen the up and down side of forums and how people are in them.

I owe a great deal of appreciation to forums because a lot of my fan base was born there, so for that I say thank you. But I have seen people commit simple mistakes that come back to haunt them. And I refuse to let that happen to me, of course no man lives a perfect life. But I will try.

So with that said I want to make it official and post it on my blog. Nothing bad has happened so please don't read into what this post is saying, I have ALWAYS kept an upstanding online presence. I just feel that people mistake my intentions all the time so its better to not express my personal thoughts on anything. This doesn't mean that I won't read them, it means that my interaction will be limited to only that.

I need to focus on all the things I want to do and create, and posting back and forth is not part of it. I am an artist that has always loved being in the midst of you all, and some how people have turned my silence into arrogance or egotistic behavior and that's not me. I am no better than anyone else and I have proven that time and time again. So those who know me personally know this to be true.

So I want you all to know what I am feeling and thinking about at this moment, and many of you remain silent, lurking like I do. So I know you all will read this.

Things that held value to me have changed yet again in a different area now, so its time to move on. I hope you all understand but its a personal thing I need to do.

Cast Shirt Design

My bud Shawn and I were kicking around the idea of making a shirt for our cast. And so I came up with this, we are getting them printed up so we can have as a memento of this years epicness!

On the clipboard I will later add the names of actors in the cast.

BOT10 Productions

So now its all official and nice. I will be working with different individuals to bring forth new and interesting projects. So look for collaborations between me and others!

But first I wanted to introduce the new logo for the company. Zombot is the first project to be released under BOT10 Productions, and I am truly excited. Some of you have seen bits and pieces already but soon you all will be able to experience it for yourself.

From Celebration to CON! ( Ask & Receive )

I know its fast! We barely got past Vudu Cinema 2010, but I feel that I would give everyone a chance to see that there is something in the works for next year.

I am currently working on Zombot, and Halloween Horror Nights, and also somewhere in there some down time. But the little kid in me wants to tease. No real info yet and it will be a long while before anything gets up dated but by all means follow the blog now!

As you can see in the banner I have established my production company so, here we go!

Vudu Cinema 2010. Yeah, WE NEED A BIGGER BOAT!

The Artist Rundown

So a while back I got together with Jeramy Walton ( JWFearman ) and we decided to make a show like Binary to reveal two art series one being my Vudu Series, and the second being his Dread Til Drawn. Dread Til Drawn deals with a play on fears, with images like a shark in a pool. I thought the imagery was amazing! So I knew it was going to carry well.

Shortly after the event began to grow, I figured that I would make it a celebration of Halloween and spooky things that we all love. A lot of "Hey, that would be great if I added". And so I added the Cinema side to the event I was armed with about a billion Horror DVDs that we can view, so I figured our friends will dig that.

By this time, word started going around that other artist were working on things that seem to fit the season. Artist and good friend Jena SanCartier had a series that she is working on that deals with old school creepy and strange images, in the form of line art so she jumped aboard!

Location

Cricketers Arms Pub again served as a location to have this little show, and again more "Hey, that would be great if I added" Plus The Arms was gracious enough to allow me to take over and host Binary 2010, Binary 2.0, and now this! I quickly formed a plan with Phil and Johny to use the two projectors and host the event there. Not a bad plan indeed The Arms is like a second home to me and so with its English Pub feel, I decided Hmm Sin Of The Dead!

Sponsors

With the idea of my version of Shawn Of The Dead I figured "Hey, that would be great if I added" A Halloween Costume Contest! Wild idea, but again it all seem to fit so I added that. I figured ok we can all dress up and have a few laughs. I'll give away a novelty award and we would all get a kick out of that! Well laugh no more this is the first time I do an event with a sponsor. Local Rep Erica from Fairvilla Megastore contacted me after hearing that I thought of hosting a costume contest with prizes. With the help of my friend Kim Guzma they were in charge of the contest.

Guest List

Ok so its time to invite friends! That too ended up with some interesting surprises. I put word out and began to tell friends that I was doing an event. Friend Shawn Porter was working on a new product that he wanted to debut and so I said "Hey, that would be great if I added" if you haven't figured it out "Hey, that would be great if I added" is the theme here... But yes Shawn has a product and so he jumped on board! He produces an actual ZOMBIE DETECTOR!!! ;) I thought man this is nice! Art, movies, costumes, zombie detectors.... We need to celebrate all things horror! And by this time Sinister's Vudu Cinema was born!

Now, by this time great minds started working! Shawn came up to me and now he said! "Hey, that would be great if we added" Flordia Ghost Team!!! and so we did! Oh and I told my friend Angela if she would come and so Angela Alderman from Ghost Hunters International came into the picture. Six Souls

Mark, Jenn, Michelle, and Jordan were invited by me to come in and show off the new shirts that I designed for them. They run Horrornight Nightmares a horror related forum that is expanding all the time. So it was neat to bring them in and spend the night with us. I have done some graphics for them and it was only natural, plus they are good friends! I wanted to add a Tarot Reader and Jenn put me in contact with Chrissy.

Chrissy Vision was brought into the event after, you guessed it! "Hey, that would be great if I added" so I made a connection with her and I can tell that her and I will be good friends!

So now I'm working on give aways, I printed up some 8x10s to give out if anyone purchased a ticket to partake in the gifts I wanted to give away. Comics, books, posters, DVDs, shirts, candy, etc. and so my friend Daniel Jordan ( DJ SQUARED ) who did the soundtrack to Binary 2.0 jumped in and wanted to help and he brought in the LEGENDARY CHAINSAW DRILL TEAM!

Which after last night Dennis a member of CDT said " I didn't know we had fans?!" Well YEAH! ME!!! So it wasn't even a question YES YES YES CDT!!!! Colin ( Big Daddy Wolf ) Played the fine route he was so gracious and kind, so he doesn't kill me! To donate some gifts for the raffle.

Woah Nelly!

With the help of all my pals, we have created a MONSTER! Last but certainly not least. Erik Yates from Behind The Thrills contacted me and said he would like to cover the event and if I wanted them there. So for the last time "Hey, that would be great if I added" B.T.T. YES!

Sin's Take

It was late one night as I work within those hours when I sketched the first Character of the Vudu Series. I wanted to create a series of graphic novels that would drive me in a new direction. Something new to work on and challenge myself as far as art and writing is concerned. I invited my friend Will Rincon to help me with the project once all the characters were created. Those four characters are the ones I used for the event poster. As Vudu Cinema 2010 is the vehicle to debut the series. Its the first time I create a graphic novel and so its all exciting and terrifying to me at the same time. But back to the event.

First off I am incredibly taken back by how so many people stepped up to the plate to support the event. From friends, Sponsors, Guest, and Attendees. I would have never imagined ever the love and support system that I have all around me. I love it because it is always a 23 moment. Yes the number 23 follows me EVERYWHERE! So I welcome it, and its moments like this that constantly remind me of who I am.

Last night was incredible and frightening at the same time. I loved the event and had a blast but I have also come to the conclusion from doing the last three events that I run around like a chicken without a head to control and run the events, and I lose precious time that I can spend with people that attend. I always find myself saying on my blog " SORRY TO ALL I MISSED". And so just like before, I am truly sorry to those that I missed last night, The Reyna Family in particular this time.

We suffered some technical issues with one DVD player in the front room. I was organizing the event and placing seating arrangements, when I saw the signal coming from the player. I thought great! I created an event, promised people that movies will be playing and the signal is saying " HA HA LOOK AT ME! IM CHAOS! AND I CAME TO PAY YOU A VISIT!" But just like any event you have to take into consideration that things will happen.

As I had to give up a lot for this event, I felt the pressure. We had to change the seating arrangement at the last minute, give up the back room where the "Real" horror films would play, fix the DVD player in the front, the back room's screen broke, and a band was scheduled to play the same night I was scheduled to host Vudu.

I won't lie I had a tiny moment of thought, I envisioned myself chucking my laptop right into the pond outside The Arms and going home. I planed this event for a month and here I am dealing with this. I felt like I failed to entertain all the people that were kind enough to take time out to see us. Some people drove from Jacksonville to see the event!

So right after that moment a song came into mind. As the slow guitar riff began to play in my head I was changed, I knew that these things happen! Why fret! Just keep it moving.. As for I'm doing this to show case the little guy, people that get over looked. We are surrounded by garbage when it comes to entertainment. We are horror fans, we are family! If the DVD wont work?! Use the Laptop's DVD drive! ITS GONNA GET HARDER BEFORE IT GETS EASY! I know its a love song but man the lyrics fit perfectly, as for I am deeply in love with my art. My craft...

And as I looked around, in the midst of my chaos people were laughing, sharing stories, taking pictures, and the FRACKING movies were not even working HA! So we kept it going finally all the issues got ironed out and the event was a SMASH!

I truly enjoyed the fact that so many people had a great time. At the end of the event I asked if they would like to do it again. The place lit up and so I am charged with new ideas that will make the event better. I had to leave the Podcast to attend to affairs inside and I'm terribly sorry for that Erik and Racheal Yates. But without mistakes you never learn.

For Vudu 2011 I am already looking at hosting in a bigger venue to accommodate everyone, as we reached capacity. I had to climb onto tables to get around people to fix the DVD issue. And I can open up to allow other sponsors to come in and join us next year.

I also plan on hiring a staff to handle all of the event's details so that volunteers can enjoy the event too. Jenn, Kim, Naz, Mark, Daniel, Phil, Johny, and others did their best to make this happen. Im sorry that things went down kind of wacky. Plus with a bigger place, over booking won't happen.

And lastly I REALLY want to spend time with people, I love to say more than " Hello, Thank you for coming, and I'll sign whatever you like." It is important to me to be with people that follow all of my insane ideas. And I hate having to say " Sorry I missed someone". So for future events I plan on having staff so that I can spend quality time with everyone.

So those are the issues and please don't take this the wrong way, but I have a clear understanding that we are gonna need a bigger boat! I had no idea how many people would be there, so its my personal promise to make future events better for all of us!

Now the long list of Thank You!

First and foremost as always I wish to thank my family Neela, Chris, Emma, and Sophie. I take time away from them to make things like this happen. And they are my constant rock of support! I am forever in debt to them and I love them dear. So Vudu Cinema is dedicated to them. Long live the Army!

Cricketers Arms Pub for providing us a place to host this event, I am honored to have you all as a sponsor to all of my events. The Arms

Jeramy Walton ( JWFearman ) For going along with a crazy plan. I never meant this to turn into an event so big. But with big ideas comes big events! I am so happy that you are creating artwork again. I was close to giving up myself, and so I look forward to seeing you develop into the great artist that you are. The-Scratchings-of-JWFearman Thank you brother.

Jena Sancartier There is no need what so ever to thank me, you alone posses a strength in line art and creativity that is beyond measure! I'm so honored to have you be a part of my life. I get to have not only a kick ass friend but a fellow artist that creates neat works of art. J'ena SanCartier makes art Thank you.

Shawn Porter For constantly being by my side. Great minds think alike it is not by chance that we ended up together in the same maze the first year I act. You convinced me to do it and so here I am. Brothers at arms and guess what, don't believe me that its fate?! We are in Soundstage 23 the first year I act. I look forward to a wonderful friendship with you and Jenn, so let the good times roll! ZDA And I would like to mention FGT Thank you and Thank you brother.

Horrornight Nightmares I would like to thank you all for allowing me to post artwork all over the site! Helping with events and for your friendship. I look forward to seeing where the site goes from here. Horrornightnightmares.com Love ya, Thank you.

Daniel Jordan I also believe that our friendship is not by chance, in the past few weeks we have become the greatest of allies and friends. You and Stef are dear to us from the word GO! Thank you for being the lead man to the CDT. And I look forward to future projects together, but most importantly I PROMISE!!!!! We will hang out more outside of business! lol SQUARED Thank you.

Angela Alderman Get ready because just like you, I'm surrounded by amazing people, people like you. So get ready to develop a great comradeship. You my peoples! Thank you.

Behind The Thrills I am sorry that I made you crazy by so many thank yous. But I feel that you guys got a better understanding of the "Sinister" way. I am looking forward to having you all around and last night we have established the beginning of our friendship. Long live BTT! Thank you. PODCAST

Chainsaw Drill Team Yes you all have fans! Starting with me. A special thanks go out to you all because it takes a lot to be a part of the elite! Daniel, Colin, Monkey, Justin, and Dennis Thank you.

Chrissy Vision It was a pleasure to have you with us and it was a pleasure to meet, just like all the rest I have mentioned on this lengthy blog. I look forward to a wonderful friendship! Visions Thank you.

Last but certainly not least! To all my fans dam I can never get used to that, and friends. I want you all to know that you are all part of my work. It is because of you I do what I do. I share a unique love for art with you, and I hope that you all understand that its better to love the art instead of the artist. Don't fall victim to starf'ing. I'm someone just like you, the only difference is that I can't stop creating art and so I don't plan to.

I fail and falter and then I pick myself back up to do it again and again. Im not someone to gaze upon and admire. So if you see me around then come up and say hello. and with that said, thank you all for the MUSTARD!!!!!!!!!! SOY SAUCE!!!!! Bobbleheads, pictures, buttons, artwork, and all the wonderful things that come in the mail and fall into my hands. Thank you for understanding my twisted logic. Thank you for the hugs, high fives, hand shakes, drewby love, motivation, links, music, art, and laughs. Thank you for your comments, inside jokes, facebook LIKES, and constant reposting and retweeting. Thank you for buying all my art. Binary, Zombot, Vudu, and all that is to come. Many things change but just remember that as long as your around, I will continue to entertain you. So to you all Thank you.

Thank you all for the Photos for more check this out! Please tag them so I can give credit to you. But thanks Jeramy, Tessa, Jena, Josh and others I stoled pics from lol.

Horrornight Nightmares Fear Gear Is In!

Well yesterday afternoon while running around town I get a text from Mark ( Horrornight Nightmares ) that the shirts I designed are in!

I was so excited to read that text, and so I called him back frantically and full of excitement! Well? How do they look? Are you happy with the printing? Did everything turn out right with the printers? Tell me, tell me, TELL ME!!!!!

He then confirmed that everything went without a hitch and that everyone is happy with the way the shirts turned out! Which is music to my ears, I always freak out at stuff like that. So now I patiently await my shirt, and I can't wait to sport it and lend my support to yet another thing related to horror and art.

Behind The Trills! Part I & II Podcast

Making a quick entry, and please accept my apologies for the quick post but tonight is my anniversary. However I did want to mention that tonight Erik Yates covered the Golden Ticket Award, an annual award that is rewarded to theme parks across the US for various things.

And in tonight's podcast he and members of Behind The Thrills were gracious enough to mention Vudu Cinema 2010, happening this Saturday Sept 18th at the Cricketers Arms, Festival Bay.

So I send my deepest thank you to my comrades in horror at Behind The Trills, I must say it was really strange for me to hear the podcast. Because I don't consider myself as a big deal never have and never will. When I put this event together it was to introduce my new " Horror Art Series" of prints, posters, and books. But it has rapidly grown by sinister proportions.

But the real reason I am posting tonight is because just like the guest at the event, I want to showcase real talent that gets over looked at all the time. So tonight I reserve this post for Behind The Trills.

Here the podcast here and make sure to SUBSCRIBE!

Also make sure to check out Vudu Cinema 2010 guest list for more information on all the talent I have in store, See you all Saturday!

Sunday Night Vinyl Gone?!

Say it ain't so, this is the saddest day for alternative fans ( me included ) in Orlando. For
the past 15 years Erik Dennison has been spinning the greatest music to ever hit the wax!

And now the citizens of Orlando get to listen to all mighty Classic Rock. Oh Im so excited, its what we needed! To reach 500 listeners that will purchase Mountain Dew and Taco Bell from radio ads.

For the past 13 years SNV has been a staple to the love I have for "Real Radio". And so its time to look for alternative entertainment that is not hell bent on driving commercials through my brain. From here on out you are now in tune with what I like to call 104.1 Zombie Radio. Save for the Phile from 3 - 7 and SBK LIVE 7 - 11.

Well thanks a lot to Clear Channel. Seriously you made my _ _ _ _ list! Seriously you made my _ _ _ _ list! Seriously you made my _ _ _ _ list! I typed 3xs so you know what rotation feels like.

However we remain unmoved, and we will keep this music in our hearts FOREVER! And I know Erik will pop up somewhere to save us from "Freedom" Rock that has now become the statement of radio slavery.

SIN'amation!

So the fine folks of Vinylmation at Downtown Disney let a Sinister cat into the store to gaze and wonder at the latest marking phenomenon called Disney's Vinylmation. I have been watching this new line of goodies for a while, with the anticipation that Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas would be making a brilliant debut! Interesting enough the flux of people that I anticipated to strike the store was surprisingly not there?!

Could it be that perhaps NMBC fans don't like the Vinyl versions that Disney has put out? Or maybe it's that people are tired of yet another way for Disney to exploit a marking tactic over and over again? Who knows but I figured more people would be scooping up the collection.

I for one am a fan of both so its only natural that I run like a kid into the store and grab my very own figures to adorn my office. The collection is going to add more figures soon of-course but they kicked it off with Jack, Sally, Mayor (RIP Glen Shardix), and the ever so loving Lock, Shock, and Barrel to name a few!

So what does resident artist "Sinister" do in a store like this? Well, what I do best! Gather a crowd and draw for a bit... I started with my vinylmation version of Vudu Riplie© and ZOMBOT©. Armed with a pen as always, I began my craft and shortly after the store staff began to draw near. Ha! Im sure they were giving each other the hidden signal for ( Who the F%^& is that guy??? ). So I had fun with it, by the time I was done there were about 15 people around me. Laughing it up having a good time and asking me when ZOMBOT© is coming out.

What can I say, I don't post this to toot my own horn. I post it because I love to be part of my community. I love to experience and share my experiences with everyone around me. And today I took my philosophy to Vinylmation!

So I hope that this serves as a guide or reminder that life is more important than work, and the trivial things that we worry about. As I sat there with my kids and shared markers with other parents and their kids. I felt the " Human Element".

So will I create my version of Vinylmation some day? I don't know but if I do I hope the store is full of people that I can share a great experience with!

Making The News?!

Im making the news! Im truly honored to have so many people love this event as it was amazing and fun for me to create it! Erik Yates from Orlando Horror Examiner had this to say.

Traditionally haunt season (the time of year when haunted events happen in Orlando) starts the last weekend in September with Universal Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights. This year it kicks off a week earlier with Sinister's VUDU Cinema and Halloween Horror Nights pre-party on September 18th at the Cricketers Arms Pub in Orlando. The event is free to the public and will include meet and greets with people in the online horror community, as well as celebrities and of course horror films. READ MORE

I am truly excited about being able to be part of the 2oth annual Halloween celebration / event, put on by Universal Studios Orlando Florida.

This year promises to introduce us to the ULTIMATE experience in fear. For the past 19 years " Something " has been patiently waiting for the right moment to be revealed.

With good friends in the industry saying " WHAT HAVE WE DONE?! " I feel that at this point I should be scared! However I will brave through this years Haunt Season with child like wonder, and increased sensation that I am part of something special.

BINARY 2.0 ORLANDO 2010 WOW! Simply wow!

WOW! Simply wow! I can't even begin to describe what an amazing night this was. We had the biggest turn out yet, and it thanks to very
special people. People that are dedicated to their craft, truly talented individuals that I have the up most honor to call friends.

First I want to thank my family for always being the support system that it is. My wife Neela, Son Christian, and Daughters Emma and Sophia.

Next I can't begin to express my love, respect, and gratitude for the following people.

Stephen Gromelski, for always being a great friend. For making me laugh and for always sayin' " suuuuure bobby whatever you want to
do is cool with me! " It is because of you that did the shows in the first place. I thank you for being by my side and doing what we want to do.
Thank you for the personal piece of art you gave me today, I shall take pictures of it in the Shrine!

Jena SanCartier, thank you for being so AWESOME! Your work, and personality always brings me joy. You hold the power of an adventurous
heart and it shows, in all you do. I am so happy to see you express yourself in your art. I can't wait to see what else you come up with! And I look
forward to working with you at HHN.

Shawn Porter, Whats to say I am truly blessed to have you in my life. We got great stories to tell and many more in the future. You can always
tell when we are brainstorming and I feel something great right over the horizon! Thank you for being a loyal friend. PS Your secret is safe with me!

Tabatha Seigel, Thank you so much for taking a leap of faith with us. I am truly excited to have met and shared ideas with you. I know that
great things are coming, and you have shown great talent! I thank you and your AMAZING models. I hope we can work together again very soon.
Now there is no turning back, I made you my friend so DEAL WITH IT! :)

Daniel Jordan, I saw a spark of light in your eyes that is truly terrifying! Why do I say that? Because its the same look I get when I am dreaming up
wild things. Dream big my friend, dream big because I know that you have change course at the Helm and are headed in a new path that will lead to great things!
First I thank you for being my friend. I thank you for being such an inspiration and also for going along with my wild ideas.. I am so proud to know that I
made the right choice by letting you create what you have done. Because it's not about me, it never has. I can't wait to see or (hear) what is next.

To all that made it out to the show, as always it seems like I need to clone myself more and more as each day passes. The first Binary show had 62+ in attendance.
Binary 2.0 had 80+ and so you all can imagine the amount of running around I do at these things. I tried to talk and meet everyone, and I am sure I missed alot.
However I would like to thank you all for showing up, truthfully I was SHOCKED! to see so many of you all there. So I am moved by this and can only simply say THANK YOU!

To all that missed the show, your spirit and energy was felt all around tonight. All my friends and fans that couldn't make it sounds like a bad thing. But for us, we know what that means.
It means that you all are there outside of a single event. We feel it and you all were honored tonight.

So as I sit here at 12:30 I can only look back and say yeah, tonight was PERFECT! Outside of me punching Jenn Porter, which I am deeply sorry about. tonight was PERFECT!

Whats next?! Im glad you asked!

WOW! Binary 2.0 Soundtrack!

Truly amazed by the sounds that Daniel Jordan aka SQUARED put together for the Binary 2.0 Art Show. I got together a while back with Daniel and we spoke about putting together a soundtrack for the series, and that quickly melded our creative minds! I thought hmm soundtrack?! YES! and you have to play at the next show!

So Daniel not only agreed but put together a mini mix just to get me, and all the fans of the series all worked up. He was gracious enough to make the full version of the mix available to everyone that attends the show, so if you are attending Binary 2.0 in August 21st. You will not only experience the soundtrack but also take it with you!

Great things come from creative minds when they get together! I am so proud not only of SQUARED, but of all the artist involved with Binary.

Stephen Gromelski, Tabatha Siegel, Jena SanCartier, and Shawn Porter.

So much to say, So much to say..

Well it has been a while since I have updated the Blog. I know I know I wish there was new artwork to show but as for now a simple
journal type entry will have to do. So here we are mid year and things have been fun so far, I know a lot of people have been going
through rough situations and times are hard. And for me it has been the same. However I look forward to new adventures, new ideas and
new directions.

First off I had to postpone Binary 2010 MIA due to conflicts in work, as of late I have been working with a lot of entities and thus simply
can't make that show happen. Binary 2010 NYC also has struggled to become a reality because my partner in the BK has had his share of
changes. We still maintain good standings with Hope Lounge and we hope to move forward and make the show a success!

http://www.hopelounge.com/

never the less, we do have plans in works to host Binary 2.0 ORLANDO! And with great pleasure I am happy to announce that the four original artist
Stephen Gromelski, Jena SanCartier, Shawn Porter, and myself will be in attendance. We are excited to bring aboard Tabatha Siegel, and Daniel Jordan.
I have listed the event on this blog to the left of this entry with all the info, hope to see you all there!

Now for more new and exciting things, ZOMBOT!!!!!!! Many are truly excited about Zombot. As it stands we are currently finding a home for said lovable
robot and soon the publication will be available. Back at Sin Camp we have tossed around the idea of self publishing and or a multimedia version of the book.
However that will still remain a secret, and rest assure that I never provide something less than perfect!

Dream Mares and Night Scapes...... Everything in life comes with it's surprises no? Well as it stands, the series is still in the works. I have taken a break
from DMNS to work on other personal things, remodeling my home being one of them. But in an interesting note and not to go into detail. It seams that one of the
paintings from the series has now fallen into the hands of mis-information and bad karma, Boooooooo! Never fear the original files are nice and safe and the
said image that has been taken and misused is now in the hands of my legal representatives. YAAAAAY! :) Again you all know me, know my heart, I NEVER tell anyone not to use my work. But I do ask that I am mentioned, so I am no stranger to this and I COMPLETELY understand copyright law. In fact this is the 4th time it happens so you know me, bottoms up and feet in sand.

And the MOST INCREDIBLE NEWS! TADA!!!!! While working on a kids book, four art series, freelance work, and artshows. I have decided to work a bit more. For those who don't know I have been an Active Creative Temp of Universal Studios Orlando for a while. Now I decided to amp the ante and work as a Scareactor for HHNXX. With that said I will not divulge my roll, cast, or anything that pertains to this gig. For me its about fun and new challenges. So now you know.

Also don't miss Sinister's VUDU Cienma - http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=130856080279179&ref=search

BINARY 2010 ORLANDO ART SHOW

What can I say the show was an absolute success! We had such a great time and great showing. I am so proud of everything and everyone, and I am excited to say that BINARY ORLANDO 2.0 will be coming soon...

" ITS CALLED GRATITUDE!!! " - Beastie Boys.

12:22am Sunday morningAs I write this I am exhausted from the day, but it wouldn't be like me to stop here and rest. No I soldier on because I fail at quitting lol.

I can't even begin to express my gratitude for the 3 artist that stepped up their game tonight, and over came their hardships, trials, and tribulations to provide Central Florida with a show that was nothing less than magnificent. When I began to create BINARY I had no idea where it would go, or how I would bring it to so many people and have them understand it, and like it. But tonight I was taught that no matter what hardships I go through, that I hold the power to change things and make something good, honest, and pure in the face everything negative. So I know that ideas like this will forever be remembered.

Im truly blessed and honored by all the supporters of my work, and so this is my way of expressing my gratitude towards everyone that was involved with the series.I want to thank the following:

1. My family - Neela, Chris, Emma, and Sophia. They are my life, my love, my everything worth getting up in the morn of a new day.

2. My family (MIAMI) - For seeing what is in me that refuses to go away, and knowing way in advance that there was something special hidden in me. And believing that it is something real.

3. The artists ( my friends ) that listened to my wild ideas, and decided to join in and be part of the show. Stephen Gromelski ( Bobby ), J'ena SanCartier, and Shawn Porter.

4. Odalys, Vidal, Andre, and Nessa for working with Second Harvest and keeping a dream alive GMAD.

5. All my supporters for ALWAYS being there. Special thanks to Belsis and she knows why. Jeramy for loving what I do, it means a lot. I get just as excited as you all do when I create something. DMNS <--hint ;)

6. Mark and Jenn for all the help and work you did by constantly re-posting on FACEBOOK! I owe you all. Much love for my ALCATRAZ CREW! Thank you for all you do, most important your friendship.Eric and Lyn for your constant support, love, and friendship. You two represent all I want in my life. I am honored by your presence and when you get that place in the keys save me a stop we will waste away in Margarita-ville together!

7. The Arms, Phil, and the Staff, for doing an amazing job tonight and for letting us put on the show. We had 60+ in attendance.

8. Thank you all who could not make it tonight, I felt your spirit tonight. You were missed but not forgotten. Ray Keim, The Jordan Crew, The Mafia you all know who you are, Tabatha, SCCOBYDREW! etc.

9. I also thank all those through the years that wished me bad things, that destroy ideas, and try to ruin what I do. That told me that I would amount to nothing. You all serve a purpose too. Because I LOVE LOVE LOVE to prove you wrong! constantly. And guess what I got plenty more to serve...

10. Thank you to all the new people I met tonight, it was awesome to meet you and I look forward to great friendships that will develop. If I missed anyone please forgive me, and please don't feel left out. I got to take some time off to gather up momentum for all to come. I only hope and wish you all will be with me as it happens.

Also If I didn't speak to you tonight please accept my apology I tried to talk to everyone but it was a busy night and a lot was going on. I know there are more to thank but this note will go on forever lol. Will, Jeanette, Justin, Bobby, Jordan, Eion, Andrew, and Sam to name a few.I love you all and thank you yet again for a wonderful evening, it was EVERYTHING I was expecting. Lazaro aka SINISTER

Binary 2010 Orlando Artshow

Hauntcon Weekend and Tour Of Universals Halloween Horror Nights

Well Ghouls and gals this week starting Thursday April 29th is the
kick off of Hauntcon!!! Don't know what Hauntcon is? Well it is Haunted
Attraction National Tradeshow & Convention Hosted by Leonard Pickel.
http://hauntcon.com/

The event is in it's 3rd year of providing the entertainment industry
with all kinds on neat stuff like, seminars, trade show floor, Hearse show, tours
and more.

This Thursday night I attended the behind the scenes event at Universal Studios Orlando
to be part of a meet and greet with members of Art and Design.

There was a small presentation that was given after our dinner, that consistent
of the members explaining a little bit about what they do. A small video
explaining brief history of Halloween Horror Nights, followed by a session of Q & A.

It was great to hear the masters of their craft talking about the grueling schedule and budgets,
key points that make or break events in my opinion. As a Concept artist one can only marvel at the challenges
they face on a year basis. From conceptual drawings to completed maze in three weeks per house!

Balancing content, handling crowds, and creating an event that is loved by many fans, and satisfying the general public.
Universal does it's finest work without anyone even knowing it, although many try to dig into the minds involved they handle it well.

We also got to see a short film on The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, before our break out. Here we got to see a glimpse
of the latest attraction to hit Orlando.

In the break out session of the event we were able to have a one to one with the Industry Professionals in there own stations.

People like my mentor and friend Ray Keim who handles Web Design and makes models for the event along with signature, etc.
http://www.haunteddimensions.raykeim.com/

T.J. Mannarino - Art Director, David Hughs, Rick Spencer, Michael Burnett, to name a few.

They covered everything from prosthetic, make up, wardrobe, house construction, to web design. truly a spectacular event, for
fans and Industry Professionals alike.

Below are photos from the event take by my friend Jeramy Walton.

The Skoolhouse HHN18 ( Halloween Horror Nights Inspired ) HIGH RESOLUTION VIDEO

Mr. Renshaw’s class has always been good. Mr. Renshaw’s class has never broken the rules. Mr. Renshaw’s class has always been perfect little angels. All of that changes when the kids from the Skoolhouse “cut” class. The children of the quaint town of Carey, Ohio are out to teach everyone that their version of Trick or Treat may be the difference between your life and death.

Entertainment Designer Forum 4.23.2010

Well I don't write much here on my art blog, but decided to do so today. Last night I attended the Entertainment Designer Forum at the M.A.D.C.O.W. Theater. Interesting little place, nice atmosphere and great staff.

Last night's event was to help raise funds for the fight against Cancer, and what a great night it was for all involved. I got a chance to meet new people and some friends again.

The main speaker was Stephanie Girard who is currently battling cancer and the person that the event was for. For those who don't know she is a Freelance designer that created the Skoolhouse for Halloween Horror Nights 18.

The interesting thing is that I was building a 3D model of the Skoolhouse using Lightwave because I was inspired by her work and the work of my Mentor Ray Keim. Ray runs a great site called http://www.haunteddimensions.raykeim.com/ here he builds and post paper models of different attraction like The Haunted Mansion and Screamhouse for donations, which he started to keep himself occupied during the battle. I found out that Ray had battled Cancer too, and so I needed to attend this event and lend my support.

But like I always say everything happens for a reason, and so here I am creating a model at the same time people are putting this event together. And me not knowing that the event was for Stephanie, I just assumed that it was a relay for Cancer and a neat way to hang out and catch up with all my mentors, and friends from the industry.

So in short I am attaching links to http://www.cancer.org/docroot/par/content/PAR_1_Relay_For_Life.asp to my video of The Skoolhouse in the hopes that you all will lend your support as well.

Article

Interview with Kristen Thomas ( finding out if mental illness/drug use/ or childhood/adolescent trauma plays a part in art. )

Artist Questionnaire
** Please note that the following questions are all your option to answer to the extent that you might feel most comfortable.

Q. When did you start creating art, what age?
A. I began creating artwork when my parents got me a plastic model kit paint set without the model kit. So I used the paint to create artwork on paper. At the age of five.

Q.When did you realize that you had a real talent for art?
A. When I won my first art prize, I was seven. 1982

Q.What kinds of mediums do you use to create?
A. What ever is around and what ever fits the subject I am trying to create, as of late it is a Computer, Photoshop, and a Wacom Tablet Graphire 3.

Q.How do you feel when you are creating art?
A. Depends on the subject, but for the most part I focus on my style and technique so there is no time for feeling. Although I do listen to music but that just fits the mood of the day. Not that by me creating artwork I feel happy or sad.

Q.How do you feel, in a stressful situation, if you cannot create?
A. Just like writers it is frustrating especially if the artwork is for a client, as a general rule I walk away from the piece at hand until I feel it is time to go back to it.

Q.If you are in a bad mood do you feel that the art you have created is better/worse?
A. If I am in a bad mood, I don't create artwork.

Q.If you are in a good mood do you feel that the art you have created is better/worse?
A. Neither, again for me I create emotion through my style and technique in other words my artwork is emotional, not me. So it is hard for me to say if its better or worse.

Q.Were you abused as a child/adolescent?
A. No

Q.If so would you feel up to describing the type of abuse?
A. If I was abused, yes I would discuss it.

Q.Can you give me a few insights about how your childhood/adolescence affected your art?
A. I guess being exposed to Sci-fi, Fantasy, and Horror at a young age has given me the opportunity to explore and appreciate things for what they are. Entertainment is what it is, but the ability to create entertainment is what I like to explore. I am more effect my that as a person rather than my art.

Q.Do you wonder how you would feel if art was not an outlet for you?
A. I never viewed art or artwork as an outlet or escape its just something I do.

Q.Do you feel that creating art is a form of therapy for you?
A. No

Q.Is creating art calming for you or do you feel something else?
A. I can't ever remember creating artwork while I was mad or upset. So I am always calm when I create artwork.

Q.Are you happy with the art that you create?
A. Yes, and the impact that others feel when they view it.

Q.If the art that you create is considered “disturbing” are you comfortable showing others?
A. Yes artwork has no censorship except for ourselves. Most of life events are disturbing and beautiful at the same time. " Beauty is in the eye of the beholder ".

Q.How do you, as the artist, handle someone who might find your art disturbing?
A. Thank them politely for viewing my work, and move on.

Q.Does the art that you create, and the effect that it has on others, seem to make what you went through better?
A. Interesting question, every artist goes through some difficult part in a painting but the effect of other people don't play a part in that. It is only a personal satisfaction that you got over an artistic hurdle.

Q.Do you think that the art that you create could have been created had you grown up under different circumstances?
A. I think so, the only difference for me at least is that I would not have the time to let my imagination grow. As a child I spent most of my time alone as I do now. So I would allow things to flourish. I wasn't a basket case who lived in a dark closet or anything like that. I had my sisters with me they just knew not to interrupt me when I was creating. Everyone had their little thing to do. For my oldest sister it was guitar lessons and music. Then my other sister was about dolls and tea parties. And for me it was TV, Video Games, Movies, Music, Books, Technology, and Art.

Q. Have you ever had a drug problem?
A. No

Q. Are you using any type of narcotic at this time?
A. No, People tend to connect drugs with Art and Music. To be that's BS, people get high as a choice, even if they are Doctors, or Artist.

Q. If so do you feel that the art that you create is better or worse because of the drug?
A. N/A

Q. Have you ever been diagnosed with any sort of mental illness? If so would you be willing to discuss?
A. No I have never been diagnosed with any sort of mental illness.

Q. If you have been diagnosed were you prescribed any sort of drug to treat?
A. N/A

Q. If so did the medication affect the outcome of any art that you created?
A. N/A

Lazaro - Well that is the thing, it has become very popular for people in general to believe that artist are disturbed or abnormal in someway. Truth is that mentally unstable people exist in all walks of life. And it is poetic and romantic to think that an artist is twisted in order to create strange pieces of art. What I have gathered from Art History is that these people were in fact dealing with some kind of issue and being an artist was, well for a lack of a better term or word ( A JOB ).

Q. You stated that there is no emotion behind your artwork when working with a client; is the same true when you are creating something for yourself?
A. I guess the best way to say it is, ( The Artist ) doesn't feel anything. At least for me I don't. I may have a splitting headache and feel sick but there is no extra ordinary feeling. No magic, no sparks of light. I am worried about Layer Opacity, Color Balance, Anatomy, composition etc.

Now with the artwork or piece its different. If some one says hey Lazaro, we want you to create a piece that portrays death, or something evil. Then I look for images that are disturbing or cause fear in order to send that message through the artwork. A lot of the time if I create something that is dark or creepy people that don't now me say " MAN THAT DUDE IS NUTS! " but that is because they can't distinguish the difference between the art and the artist. For instance Marilyn Manson, Madonna, Lady Gaga. these are normal people that play on something that may make people uncomfortable. Most of the time it can be an issue that they don't like. so they take a stab at it. Marilyn Manson with Religion. They are doing it to create a buzz and to sell Albums.

I feel that artist do the same thing, they are driven by expression. The worse thing for an artist is to not be understood. And so people must understand that just because I take pictures of dead pigs, doesn't mean I like to kill kids and eat brains. lol

the artist = No emotion ( The Vessel or Instrument )
the art = (Emotion or Message and or Both )

Q. If not then can you describe the process? For example is it merely a thought that is in your head that you let out?
A. As an artist we are in tune with everything and every one, so ideas, images, thoughts, words, poems, songs, are a constant hurricane in an artist mind. Creativity can come from everywhere and anywhere all at once. So there is no real way to pin point the process. I have found myself in a bar with friends and someone is talking about something and I see it in my head and sketch it out on a napkin with the servers pen. Or I am at home working on a painting and it turns out to be something else out of just experimenting.

Some artist are ritualistic, they have a certain thing they have to do to get to their mojo or sweet spot, with me it is never turned off. I can wake up in the middle of the night and create something that I don't want to forget. So its hard to say and I hope this makes sense.

Now I can say that I am a perfectionist I go over things over and over again. If there was ever in the art field a person like Trent Reznor from Nine Inch Nails then I would be that.

Q. Was there any of your artwork that you can remember that someone else found disturbing? If so can I see it and can you tell me if they explained why they thought it was either too dark or disturbing?
A. I have never had anyone tell me my work is disturbing so I don't have pieces that I can show you. Do you find my work disturbing? I have had a lot of ( strange, unique, cool, WOW, awesome, etc. ) But I can say that my work is somehow translating what people want to feel about themselves. So they see it wonderful, beautiful, or interesting. I like complex things so I create complex things puzzles and such.

Lazaro you are exactly right when you say that it is romantic to think that the artist is wounded and disturbed and his art is a representation of that. I am definitely guilty of that romantic notion.
This all started when I looked into Norman Rockwell's life. I have never related to his artwork at all. All of that loving apple pie stuff just never fit for me. I never related to it. So I began to wonder about him. As it turns out according to his therapist his artwork was the work of "what he wished his life was like." So all of those paintings of small town Americana was a fantasy for him.

That is where it started. I wondered if there were more artists out there who were using their life's issues and creating art from that. But you are right- there are wounded people in every walk of life. Just as Picasso was a schizophrenic there are also accountants who become schizophrenic. Tim Burton is bipolar but there are attorney's that are bipolar. So I may find that there are just as many "sane" artists as there are artists who have an issue.

You asked if I thought that your art was disturbing- no. The first print that I saw of yours was Santa Claus and I loved it. Not because it reminded me of all of those great childhood memories but because there was something in his eyes that looked like what he is in my mind- an old man who wanders through your house alone while you sleep. That is what I see. Ask 4 other people and they may all see 4 different things in that same print.

You also mentioned Trent Reznor and I will admit to being very limited in what I know about him but I will admit to thinking that he is a little disturbed. The lyrics and images appear to be those of a man who is dealing with some issues. But at the same time I would not have said that about Stephen King- a person I am familiar with. That man has some twisted stories that create disturbing imagery in the mind of the person reading his work. But I would have said that his work was the beauty of a vivid imagination and the ability to find a way to bring that imagination to life.

So what is the difference in the two men? Why are my opinions of these two men completely different. Truth be told Trent may be as sane as any other man while King is completely off his rocker. What is the difference? Well just like "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" sanity is in the eye of the observer. Both are all about perception.

It was great talking to you Lazaro. It is always great to think you know how you feel about something but after talking to someone you allow yourself to think about things in a different way.

BUT if you do decide to start doing something twisted after taking pictures of dead pigs please feel free to write and let me in on the thought process! ;)

Kristen, great point about Trent Reznor and Stephen King. It all boils down to perception. although there maybe truth in an artist being disturbed but, I find that a lot of the time artist just project an idea to get people to think about things in another way. So we shall find out if I am in fact crazy once my new series comes out!

lol I don't see myself photographing piggies anytime soon, but if I do you'll be the first to know! :) It was my pleasure in helping you with your project. Lazaro

Thanks again- Kristen
